Founded in 1958
Originally built in 1958, The Holiday Bowl has been restored completely to the Golden Age of Bowling. Featuring state-of-the-art equipment and tools to improve your game. We also boast one of the best pizzas around as well as an amazing lunch and dinner menu. If you are looking for a place to quench your thirst we offer a beautiful mid-century lounge to sample our signature barrel-aged old fashions or just a cold draft beer. Our History
After sitting unused for over 5 years we have brought life back to this historic venue!
In 1958 the Holiday Bowl was built by David Cohen and managed by Bob Stanford of Augusta. This was considered by many to beginning of the Golden Years of bowling. Initially built as an 8-lane center but due to success was increased to 12 lanes. Approximately the same year Brunswick Bowling introduced the “Gold Crown Line” of bowling equipment. In celebration of the golden years of bowling and the historical contributions Brunswick has made to this great American pastime we are restoring the Holiday Bowl to its former glory. We have scoured the country searching old or abandoned centers for these amazing 60-year-old pieces of equipment. These are being painstakingly restored completely by local Augusta professionals. Besides being functional the beauty of this bygone era will be on full display from the “Star Trek Enterprise” ball returns to the Mid Century masking units!
Despite the beautiful old equipment being used we have bowlers in mind. We have installed the most current scoring Brunswick equipment and monitors. In-Sync will also allow for online reservations and offer the most current bowling interface and scoring system. The lanes have all been completely cleaned and refurbished by the amazing team at Jayhawk Bowling. We have spent the last year running through the machines with a fine-tooth comb. 5 years of in-activity pays a heavy price on this type of machinery. For now, we are keeping the wood lanes with a plan to the future to move towards synthetic.
With our goal of excellence in bowling, we plan on becoming a training center for aspiring bowlers. Towards this end, we have also installed Specto on 6 of our lanes. This is an incredible tool to help the serious bowler improve their skills.

We are also only one of 10 Brunswick bowling centers in the USA to offer Lanetalk. This amazing app allows you to track all kinds of stats and equipment. As well as offering virtual leagues challenging other centers in Kansas or Europe.
The interior remodeling doesn’t stop there! We have custom-built a beautiful ~ 20ft cedar bar as well as 4 other smaller cedar tops to enjoy a cold beer and the bowling action. All lighting has been meticulously chosen to bring back the mid-century warm vibe. All colors are chosen accurately to match the era. We hired a local artist for original art and have plans for a “Greetings from Augusta Kansas” mural on the side of our building. Plus we have installed one of the largest solar arrays in Augusta on our roof to help support our local PowerGrid! With amazing custom-built tables, new gold crown house balls to complete the retro vibe, to new flooring we have left no detail untouched.
A completely remodeled kitchen that has been updated with the largest new pizza oven we could find! We will start with a smaller menu and expand this as we get our feet under us. We have over a decade of pizza experience so this will initially be central to the dining experience. We do asks for patience as work through trial and error as we expand the menu. If it is not great food it won’t be on our menu!
Installation of 12 brand new bowling monitors and 14 new TV’s each with its own Dish network receiver (seasonal ESPNPlus for those who love college football and basketball) for the greatest sports bar venue we could create.
Other exciting ideas we are planning to explore-
- We have installed 3 dart lanes for those steel tip enthusiasts.
- We are also very involved in the world of dark spirits - Rum and Whiskey and plan on making this a priority by way of hosted tastings and possibly even flights of the finer bottles that are available.
- We have also installed a small stage area for events such as live music, trivia, and karaoke to name a few. This also doubles as a unique seating area to soak in the vibe.
- An exclusive limited availability membership with benefits such as completely free bowling anytime a lane is available, discounts on food/beverages, and access to exclusive events!
